Frontier River Resort - Vioolsdrif

Located by a beautiful river for a refreshing stopover close to the border, this hotel offers a great view of the river and easy access down to the water. Rooms are comfortable with ample amenities such as air-conditioning, mini-fridges, and spacious ensuite bathrooms. Breakfast comes with delicious homemade muffins while the friendly hosts offer helpful travel tips. the option to purchase meat packs for a braai adds convenience to an already enjoyable stay.

Although some guests report issues with communication and payment for activities offered by neighboring businesses, the hotel itself remains a great choice for a peaceful and comfortable stay.

The cleanliness was excellent, and the hotel facilities were fantastic. The location close to the border crossing was just what we needed, as we were heading to Namibia next. The breakfast provided by the staff was delicious and satisfying.

We recently visited a resort alongside a river on our way to Namibia. The location was perfect, just a 5-minute drive from the border crossing. The tents were beautifully decorated and had all the amenities that one could wish for, such as air conditioning, mini-fridges, spacious shower rooms, and comfortable beds. The best part of our stay was the lovely hosts, who were always eager to attend to our needs. They recommended a quirky river pub where we enjoyed great pizzas, and if we wanted to bring our own braai and food, we had access to cooking facilities. In the morning, we had an enjoyable breakfast on the stoep overlooking the river.

The only negative aspect that we noticed during our stay was that there was no signboard leading to the resort. We felt that a signboard could have been very useful to guide us since the location was quite secluded.

The perfect stopover location! Great views of the river with comfortable and spacious tents. the hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, letting us pay with our card for activities and even making us delicious homemade muffins at breakfast. the availability of fresh meat and veggies onsite made our braai experience even better.

The communal kitchen had a lot of flies, so make sure to bring some insect repellent. the location could have been a bit better signposted, but aside from that, everything was great.
